Frequently
asked
questions.

License & credentials

How do I check that you're actually licensed?

Visit cslb.ca.gov and search for license #700519. Our license has been active and in the same name since 1994. You should do this with any contractor before signing — a legitimate contractor will encourage it, not avoid it.

Are you insured, and can I see the certificate?

Yes. We carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance. We provide a certificate of insurance upon request — you can ask for it before any work begins, and we encourage you to.

What's the difference between a Class B and Class C-39 license?

A Class B (General Building) license allows us to contract for projects involving three or more trades. A C-39 (Roofing) license specifically covers roof installation and repair. Having both on one license means a job that goes from the roof to the foundation doesn't need two separate contractors.

Estimates & pricing

How much does an ADU cost in Southern California?

ADU costs vary significantly based on size, type (detached, attached, or garage conversion), site conditions, and finishes. We provide detailed, itemized estimates after a site visit — not ballpark numbers over the phone. The site visit and estimate are free and carry no obligation.

Do you give free estimates?

Yes. All estimates are free. We visit your property, assess the work, and provide a written, itemized estimate before any commitment from you.

How much deposit do you take?

California law limits deposits to the lesser of $1,000 or 10% of the contract price for jobs over $500. We comply with this. Progress payments are tied to completed stages of work, not to a schedule.

How long does a roof replacement take?

A typical single-family shingle roof takes 2–3 days: tear-off and dry-in on the first day, install and detailing after. Tile takes longer. Flat roofs depend on what the deck looks like once the old system is removed. We'll give you a realistic timeline at the estimate.

Permits & process

Do you pull the permits, or is that on me?

We pull the permits and schedule the inspections. That is part of the service — not something we leave to the homeowner. We handle plan check, permit submittal, corrections, and inspection scheduling with the county.

What does building a custom home involve?

A custom home involves roughly a dozen sequenced trades, each gated by inspection: grading, foundation, framing, roofing, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, insulation, drywall, finish carpentry, and exterior. Our Class B license lets us coordinate all of that under a single contract and single point of accountability.

How are change orders handled?

If something genuinely changes — hidden conditions, owner-requested modifications — you approve it in writing before we proceed. Nothing gets added quietly to the price. This is stated in every contract.

Services

Do you do commercial work?

Yes, particularly for flat and low-slope roofing systems. Contact us to discuss commercial projects.

Do you work with my architect, or do you provide design?

We can work with your architect or engineer. For ADU and simpler projects, we often include design-build services. For custom homes, we typically coordinate with your chosen design professional.

What areas do you serve?

We serve Jurupa Valley, Riverside, Corona, Eastvale, Norco, Ontario, Fontana, Chino, Mira Loma, and Rubidoux — Riverside County and western San Bernardino County.
