A-03.E · New Construction

Ground up,
to current
code.

Residential · Commercial · Class B

New construction is the only time you get to build it right from the start, with no existing conditions to work around and no previous contractor's decisions to inherit.

A-03.E.1

Building from
nothing

New construction covers ground-up structures on a cleared or undeveloped site: single-family homes, second dwellings, commercial shells, and additions substantial enough to be effectively new structures.

The advantage over renovation is that nothing is hidden. Every component is specified, installed and inspected in sequence, and current code is the baseline rather than a target to retrofit toward.

The discipline that matters is sequencing and inspection. Concrete cannot be un-poured and framing cannot be un-covered. Everything gets signed off before the next trade buries it.

What we
handle

Site through final. Where specialty engineering is required, we coordinate it rather than pretending we do not need it.

  1. 01

    Site preparation

Clearing, grading, compaction and drainage. Everything above ground depends on getting the water going the right direction before anything is built.

  2. 02

    Foundation systems

Slab-on-grade and raised foundations, formed, reinforced and inspected before pour, to the soils report and engineered plans.

  3. 03

    Structural framing

Floor, wall and roof framing with hardware and shear detailing per plan. California framing requirements are not a formality — seismic detailing is inspected closely and correctly so.

  4. 04

    Envelope and roofing

Sheathing, weather barrier, windows, doors and roofing. Because we hold the C-39, the roof is installed under the same license that framed the building beneath it.

  5. 05

    Trade coordination

Electrical, plumbing and mechanical rough-in through finish, sequenced and inspected. One contract, one point of accountability.

  6. 06

    Final and occupancy

Jurisdiction final inspection, certificate of occupancy, and a written punch list walked with you before the last payment.

Common questions

The Class B General Building classification covers both. Scope and scale determine whether a given project is a fit — we will tell you honestly if a job is better served by a contractor who does that building type every week.
We build from your architect's or engineer's drawings, and can coordinate design where you do not have it. Either way we review for constructability before pricing.
We do. Plan check submittal, corrections, permit issuance and inspection scheduling. A contractor asking the owner to pull the permit is shifting liability onto you, and it is often a sign the contractor is not properly licensed for the work.
Riverside County and western San Bernardino County — Jurupa Valley, Riverside, Corona, Eastvale, Norco, Ontario, Fontana and Chino among them. Outside that, call and we will give you an honest answer about whether it makes sense.
